I coudn't resist going to look at the new 2010 Gen III Priuses. They are really nice! They have a lot of new features like a solar powered roof that will jump start your air conditioning, parallel park automatic system, and cruise that adjusts your speed so you don't bump the car in front! Very high tech! There isn't a computer screen any more unless you get the Navigation option. This Prius had the Navigation screen and had a sticker price of a little over 30,000.00! I would suggest buying one from www.autobeyours.com and save about 18,000.00 or more!

On Wednesday, June 10 I took my Prius PHEV into Steve and Jenny Woodruff's Auto Be Yours in Scottsburg, Indiana. I was very excited to actually visit the business I have been visiting virtually for over 9 months now. I was not at all disappointed.
As I walked in Steve and Jenny warmly greeted me and showed me the basics of their business. Steve gave me free reign to take pictures and take pictures I did! I took dozens of pictures.

Steve was going to let me borrow his Doc Holliday special Prius to go visit my son and come back in a couple of days. However, upon surveying the work needed to be done, he gave me the option to wait and he said he should have it done in a couple of hours.

That sounded great to me. I was able to pull up to the car and watch Steve and Jenny work on the vehicle. I was amazed how they knew the Prius inside and out. Jenny worked as a team with her husband. She knew every part that was needed and help put the little "boo boo's" back together.

The car looked great when they finished. Steve took me outside and we lined up all the PHEV cars and took pictures. Steve also let me drive the "all electric" eprius which has NO gas mower. It is powered by three Prius stock batteries. Pretty cool indeed!

Upon leaving I thanked Steve and Jenny profusely and said I would be back for their OPEN HOUSE in July. I am also going to take my 2005 Prius over to Steve's to have some small cosmetic work done. Thank you Steve and Jenny for this great experience. In the next couple of days when I get home, I will post all the photos I took. Here are a couple for now.

Our PHEV needs a few touch ups on it that Steve Woodard of www.autobeyours.com we take care of with his unbelievable one year warranty. This is one reason I went with Steve and his business. He backs up what he sells! I have been very happy with our PHEV and really enjoy talking about it with people who are interested. I probably get asked at least twice a week, "Does this car really get 100 mpg?" I of course answer, "Yes it does!" I then point everyone towards www.autobeyours.com and the great work they do. By the way, I really enjoy being able to watch Auto Be Yours on their shop cameras, very cool!

We are having a lot of fun driving the PHEV vehicle around. When I can plug in at work, we are averaging over 55 mpg and higher. I am getting about 300 miles in the first half of a tank of gas. This summer should be fun.

I have been able to plug in some opportunity charging this last few days. Wow, what a difference that makes! I am getting better at milking the charge out of the batteries by hypermiling and some other little tricks.

Wow! We have the car! It is amazing! Steve Woodruff took us in a test drive and showed us all the features. It was a lot of information to take in. Going home I couldn't figure out how to turn off the navigation switch till about half way home. Duh! All I had to do was hit the info button on the column! Oh well!

It has a voice activated control. Very neat. The only disappointment was that I asked for a cup of coffee and ...it didn't make it for me! Bummer! Other than it changed, radio, maps, climate, etc.

Here are photos of the dash, the PHEV button, and the stealth (ultra cool EV only) mode! The extra photo is of Steve's Lithium battery pack in Jenny's Prius.

I'll update more later as we get use to all the features.

Here is the long awaited Hiero PHEV. Isn't it a beauty? The first picture is of the spring assembly, then the battery pack in the trunk, and then the final rear shot with the 100 mpg bumper sticker! What an amazing journey! More to follow soon!

Wow! What a great job on the Prius! Look at the left side that was wrecked! Looks great. Steve is just getting ready to install the PHEV this week and test drive. We should be getting it soon. Very cool indeed!

We are having a new PHEV Prius built by www.autobeyours.com in Indiana. On this site we will post pictures of our PHEV being built and the final project of course. What is a PHEV? It is a Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicle. There are only about 160 of them in the entire USA! When finished it will get about 10-15 miles on each electric charge going 52 m.p.h. or less or it will average over 100 mpg on assist to the regular hybrid set up.
The picture posted is of the car in its condition now! Wow! Steve is a genius! The battery pack is produced by Plug in Prius.
